Our Mission
Working together with people in coffee-producing countries, we transform communities by focusing on children, equity, and environment through programs in education, health, sustainability, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).
The Unimaginable Compromises
The global crisis requires our organization to focus on the quick and desperate needs for the children and families in Vila do Café (Coffee Village), Encruzilhada, and Vitória da Conquista in the state of Bahia, Brazil, and in Duque de Caxias in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Suffering from the spread of COVID and the inability to work, parents are faced with decisions about how to survive, let alone provide.
- What if you had to consider robbing a store to feed your two sons?
- Could you send your three young daughters out to find food and tell them to do anything to get it?
- Could you ask your neighbor you barely know to feed your 3, 6, and 9 year old so you can travel to find work, or beg for scraps?
So many of us are facing our own challenges every day, and yet are able to afford a cup of coffee each day. The price of a month’s worth of coffee beans could feed a family for 2 weeks.

- $20 – Basic basket of food and supplies for a family in hunger crisis (1-2 weeks supply)
- $40 – Basic basket of food and supplies for a family in hunger crisis (3-4 weeks supply)
- $100 – Basic basket of food and supplies for 5 families in hunger crisis (1-2 weeks supply)
- $500 – Dental care for approximately 100 people (children and families)
- $1000 – Training for teachers to provide fun, loving care for children
